According to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bls.gov\/opub\/ted\/2016\/24-percent-of-employed-people-did-some-or-all-of-their-work-at-home-in-2015.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/a><\/span>, only 19% of workers worked from home just a decade ago.<\/p>\n<p>But working from home is no longer seen as something only self-employed people do in their pajamas. Now, people across nearly every industry are working from home. This is likely due to improved technology, including faster and more reliable internet connections, email, and video conferencing programs like Skype.<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm canvas-atom\" data-type=\"text\" data-reactid=\".1kw5mdrhnpy.$0.0.0.1.2.0.2.0.0.$Col1-0-ContentCanvas-Proxy.$Col1-0-ContentCanvas.0.4.0:$8\">According to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/work-from-home-millennial-growth-175755438.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yahoo Finance<\/a><\/span>, this new trend may also be a hallmark of today&#8217;s culture. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/millennials-gen-y-generation-y-info-2\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Millennials<\/a><\/span>, who recently surpassed Baby Boomers to become the largest group in the U.S. workforce, are more likely to expect working conditions to be catered to their individual preference.
