And, when your living room is the outdoors, you need a shoe that can go from concrete to green space.<\/p>\n<p>Enter Columbia Sportswear&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.columbia.com\/shft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SH\/FT footwear<\/a><\/span>, which are designed to fit the pavement-to-park lifestyle of emerging generations.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Denise Villa, CGK\u2019s CEO and Co-Founder, participated in the expert panel at the launch of the new shoe line. She shared Gen Z data including findings from CGK\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/the-generations-hub\/state-of-gen-z\/\">annual Gen Z research<\/a><\/span>, as a panelist at the SH\/FT shoe release in Brooklyn, New York. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sneakers-magazine.com\/columbia-sportswear-sh-ft-launch-in-nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The panel<\/a><\/span> was led by Complex\u2019s Joe La Puma and included Columbia\u2019s Vice President of Footwear Peter Ruppe, Vanessa Garrison, the founder GirlTrek, and GRAMMY-award winning artist, DJ, and producer Zedd.<\/p>\n<p>As Dr. Villa shared, Gen Z is very much a social generation, and outdoor activities are one of the ways where they\u2019re able to get together. They are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/ustaassets\/assets\/822\/15\/papc_study.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the most active generation<\/a><\/span>, and they still want to look good while being active outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Our research is showing that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/The-State-of-Gen-Z-2017-White-Paper-c-2017-The-Center-for-Generational-Kinetics-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this generation is more frugal<\/a><\/span> and utilitarian than Millennials when it comes to their shopping and spending. They want to get more value for their money. Particularly, when it comes to footwear, Gen Z are more likely to eschew use-specific shoes.
