The rise of entirely new industries and technology has introduced new jobs to the workforce, offering Millennials the opportunity to apply their new and specialized skills. With hip tech companies offering seemingly more exciting jobs, some <a href=\"\/heres-why-millennials-dont-want-to-work-at-car-dealerships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">traditional companies<\/span><\/a> might find a shortage of applicants for their Human Resources or financial job openings.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5050\" src=\"https:\/\/genhq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Ninjas.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"870\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>What\u2019s the solution?<\/h4>\n<p>Human Resources and financial jobs, for example, are still crucial to a company\u2019s success, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/3-ways-childrens-hospitals-can-recruit-retain-millennial-employee-talent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no matter the industry<\/a><\/span> or age of a company. The answer could be rebranding these positions.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of calling a job \u201cHuman Resources Manager,\u201d JUUL Labs in San Francisco calls it a \u201cPeople Operations Generalist.\u201d Instead of hiring a \u201cLegal Consultant,\u201d Palantir in Palo Alto, California is hiring a \u201cLegal Ninja.\u201d And instead of hiring an accountant, Automattic in San Francisco is hiring a \u201cTax Wrangler.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies like to play \u2018dress up,\u2019\u201d Ladders CEO Marc Cenedella <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/unusual-job-titles-companies-hiring-millennials-2018-11#tax-wrangler-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Business Insider<\/a>.<\/span> \u201cBy adopting the lingo, and mimicking the behavior of companies they want to be like, they hope to have some of the magic rub off on them.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>How does this look in practice?<\/h4>\n<p>Take the tech company SCVNGR, for example. Whereas once someone might apply to become the Chief Operating Officer, a job title with little question as to what it means, they are now applying for a job called \u201cChief Rockstar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Changing a job title will not likely change anything about the job description, but perhaps rebranding it will attract a different kind of talent. Of course getting applicants and hiring someone for the position is just the first step.
