This is especially true for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/igen\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen Z<\/a><\/span>, the youngest generation of teens and tweens, who spend a large chunk of their lives online.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3739\" src=\"https:\/\/genhq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/9.27.16.jpg\" alt=\"9-27-16\" width=\"1000\" height=\"686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/genhq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/9.27.16.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/genhq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/9.27.16-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/genhq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/9.27.16-768x527.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is not necessarily the case for all <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/Millennials-Gen-Y-Generation-Y-info\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Millennials<\/a><\/span> quite yet, particularly when it comes to their travel and spending habits. In fact, it is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/apex.aero\/2016\/09\/20\/chinese-millennial-traveler#sthash.WtiuQ97w.dpuf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Millennials in Asia<\/a><\/span> who are shaking up the travel industry in a completely new and mystifying way.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/apex.aero\/2016\/09\/20\/chinese-millennial-traveler#sthash.WtiuQ97w.dpuf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article from Apex<\/a><\/span>, Chinese Millennials represent one of the biggest populations of the millennial group. Sixty percent of Millennials worldwide live in Asia, with a third originating from either China or India. But it\u2019s not just the amount of them that\u2019s notable: according to a study commissioned by the Singapore Tourism Board, Chinese Millennials are the biggest spenders among Asian Millennials, with some feeling comfortable spending nearly $14,000 on travel per year!<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not just in their travel spending habits where Chinese Millennials differ from American Millennials. It\u2019s in how they use technology and bridge language barriers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMillennials in other places tend to be less tech-savvy, more tech dependent,\u201d said <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jasondorsey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Dorsey<\/a><\/span>. \u201cThey don\u2019t know how tech works; they just know they can\u2019t get on without it. In China, though, you tend to have a much higher threshold of technical skills. It\u2019s a whole new level. There\u2019s a complete integration into that digital world, which to them is as important and almost as real as the physical world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chinese Millennials also value independence and small luxuries in their travel. Many of them piece together trips on their own instead of using travel agents and tour operators, and they have an affinity for perks. Dorsey explains that this is a huge opportunity for airlines especially\u00a0since they could make big loyalty gains with small details on board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s where Chinese Millennials really differ from other generations,\u201d said Dorsey. \u201cThey like small luxuries.
